Stitches From The Soul - Sistahs

  Our Quilt Guild

Who we are! We are a small group of ladies located in northwest Ohio in a place called Toledo. You will find us here on the western shores of Lake Erie, forty minutes south of Detroit, two and one half hours west of Cleveland and four hours east of Chicago. The ladies decided after making their first quilt for the church 140th church anniversary (2008) that they wanted to continue the craft of quilting and thus "Stitches From The Soul - Sistahs Quilt Guild."

Our purpose is to perpetuate the tradition and art of quilting through prayer, fellowship and a sharing of our craft with the community. Our contribution has been two quilt exhibits. First the Art Tatum African American Resource Center, Toledo, OH and the following year a display at The Toledo Public Library dowtown Toledo, OH.  One speaking engagement at a senior citizen bible study group and most recent the donation of twenty five baby quilts to the Ronald McDonald House in Toledo. 2010.  Stitches From The Soul Sistahs Quilt Guild was on exhibit at the Toledo Public Library in downtown Toledo OH in the months of February for Black History Month, March, for Womens History Month and closing April 23, 2010.

Membership is open to anyone with a desire to learn or improve the craft of quilting in a Christian based atmosphere. During our meeting we not only learn to quilt with currant technology, we also gain knowledge of historical quilting facts through our research and demonstrations.

You can find us 10:00am on the fourth Saturday of each month @Third Baptist Church, 402 Pinewood Ave Toledo, OH
